Donate your unwanted toys to help others in Essex

Various Christmas toys in a box

Thursday 22 November 2018

Do you have too many toys cluttering your home? Did you know you can take unwanted toys, which are in good condition, by donating them at a number of libraries in Essex this Christmas? Your toys will then be redistributed to a variety of great charitable causes.

The following donations in good condition will be gratefully received for redistribution:

    • Soft toys
    • Dolls
    • Complete board games
    • Construction toys such as Lego
    • Colouring books, crafts and stationary such as pencils and felt tip pens
    • Children’s DVDs such as animated films
    • Video games and other electronic toys

To donate your unwanted toys, visit one of the libraries listed below and look for the cardboard container, from Monday 3 December until Monday 14 January 2019:

Brentwood (collected by Lighthouse Furniture Project and redistributed to Basildon Women’s Aid Refuge and The Royal London Hospital).

Colchester (collected by Repair Reuse Recycle CIC and Essex Child & Family Wellbeing service and redistributed at Firstsite in Colchester).

Epping Forest (collected by Epping Forest ReUse and redistributed to Loughton Food Bank and Homeless Persons’ Hostel - Norway House).

Thank you for your help in redistributing toys to support other children in your community this Christmas. If you live outside of these areas and have toys you would like to donate, then many charity shops would appreciate donations. You could even pass them on to others for free on Freegle.
