To help combat unnecessary waste this year, we’ve put together a handy checklist to help you and your family enjoy a low-waste Christmas.

Bin collection and recycling centre information

During winter, Essex County Council recycling centres close at 4pm and will have a seasonal opening schedule over Christmas.

Recycling centres will be closed on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve from 1pm, and closed all day on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.

Visit your local council's website to find out what can be collected from the kerbside and any seasonal changes to your bin collection service.
