December is a time of the year when large quantities of food get wasted. To try and prevent this, we’ve put together a calendar of seasonal suggestions to help you reduce your food waste.

Week 1 – Start a food waste diary and set yourself a target to reduce your food waste over the festive period.

Week 2 - Plan your menu and make sure you shop for the right ingredients and quantities you need.

Week 3 – Start your festive food prep.  Be sure to know the best way to store your food and make the most of your freezer by .

Week 4 – Love your leftovers.  Transform or freeze leftovers for another time. Or pass on unused food in your local area using an app like Olio or Freegle.

For one final chance to win a £60 voucher for the supermarket of your choice, we are asking you to try out at least one of the “seasonal suggestions” above and let us know if it helped you reduce your food waste. Find more details on our Festive food page.
