Waste Strategy Action Plan published

Earlier this year, the Waste Strategy for Essex was adopted by all 13 councils in the Essex Waste Partnership. The waste strategy sets out how we will manage the recycling and waste that is produced by homes and businesses for the next 30 years.

The partnership identified four key priorities for Essex:

  • move to a circular economy
  • apply the waste hierarchy
  • collaborate and innovate
  • educate and engage

The vision of the Waste Strategy for Essex is: ‘Rethinking our waste: By everyone working together, we will reduce, reuse and recycle more. This will protect the environment and save resources’.

The action plan describes the steps we will be taking to help us achieve this vision. To remind yourself about the targets and ambitions, or to find out more about our plans for 2025, read the full action plan.
